"Fyffes sent test shipments of treated bananas to the USA and Europe, for them to be tested by 3 top international laboratories, two in Germany and one in the USA.  Aside from testing the efficacy of DuraTechT, its durability and lack of phytotoxicity, Fyffes asked the laboratories to evaluate its residuality o the fruits, in order to determine if it was lower than the Maximum Residual Levels ( MPL's) allowed by EU standards.  The results were very good and specifically on the MRL tests came to be 50% below the tolerances of the EU regulations. Because of all of these, Fyffes expressed interest in the application of this product to bananas.
 
Based on the above, we at NBC plan to use DuraTechT in all our post-harvest operations of bananas, once the product has complied with the regulations of the EU and those of  Fyffes."  | August 7, 2025
