Unlike chemical disinfectants, which destroy pathogens by poisoning them through chemical reactions, biosecurity does so through chemo-mechanical processes. Products that use chemical reactions see rapid reduction of surface concentration and efficacy due to evaporation, dilution, and lack of fixation on the application surfaces.
Biosecurity products are fixed to the application substrates and do not evaporate or adhere to other contact surfaces, so their concentration is not lowered nor can they be washed off – keys to their extended durability.
In addition, because they do not react chemically with pathogens, but mechanically, the concentration on the application surfaces is not reduced.
